I am full of regrets while at the same time relieved. I made a mistake. I decided to put my happiness and joy on the back burner for the sake of another's comfort. Doing so could have lost me a lot more than it did. I am lucky to have the friends that I have because even when I stopped talking with them, they understood why. They saw the signs and respected my decision to do this for another and when that situation ended...they were there waiting for me with open arms, smiles, laughter and numerous stupid movies to watch together.

The flow of conversation and ideas picked up right where they left off, no animosity towards me for the choices I made, just acceptance and a whole lot of goofing off to make up for lost time. I am so thankful, to YOU especially. For 12 years you have been there always ready to crack a joke, listen to me rant about something, offer genuine advice. The one thing I love most about you though, you accept me as I am with all of my flaws. Any time I apologize for something I think I've done wrong you correct me, you reassure me that I don't need to apologize for existing and learning as I go. I never thought hearing the response of "Why are you apologizing, you've done nothing wrong." would hit me so hard, I haven't heard it spoken that genuinely in a very long time.
